The Zagreb International Model United Nations (ZAGIMUN) is an annual United Nations simulation for university students. It will be held this year for the 1st time in Zagreb, Croatia, from the 21st until the 26th October.
ZAGIMUN gives you the opportunity to experience the working and decision-making process of the United Nations through role-playing in one of the organs simulated, helping participants to gain a multicultural view of world affairs and to develop public speaking and debating skills. Besides the educational goal a special atmosphere is created during the conferences due to the social events.
The most important objective of this project is bringing Croatia closer to the tendencies of developed countries which have been conducting this form of extracurricular education for the last several decades. Moreover, bearing in mind the Croatian determination towards better integration into the international community, it is our goal to introduce Croatian students to the work and role of relevant international institutions. We are sure that this experience will enhance their education, primarily through intensive conference activities in international environment, but also by application of case study concept in solving open issues between member states in various simulated committees. Furthermore, organizers will aim to achieve international atmosphere during the conference by recruiting students from European countries as well as those from all over the world. This will for sure contribute to the credibility and distinctiveness of this MUN experience.
Taking into account the fact that participants will be from all over the world, the executive committee will strive to get our guests acquainted with Croatian cultural and historical heritage by focusing on Zagreb primarily, but nevertheless outlining Croatian uniqueness in general.
